Casefriend is designed to preserve documents that are relevant to your cases. However, there may be instances where a document, email, or time entry was added or linked to the wrong event. In such cases, you can remove these items using the Dependencies window.
Accessing the Dependencies Window
- Navigate to the Event where the incorrect item is linked.
- Locate the Show Dependencies button in the lower-left corner of the Event screen.
- Click the Show Dependencies button to open the Dependencies window.
Removing Items from Dependencies
Inside the Dependencies window, you will see sections for:
- Bills (Time Entries)
- Documents
- Emails
To remove an item:
- Click the red X next to the item you want to delete or unlink.
- Confirm the removal when prompted.
⚠️Important Notes
- Only users with Access permissions can view and modify the Dependencies window.
- Removing an item from an event deletes the item from your account. The action cannot be undone,

Q: Will deleting an item from Dependencies remove it from the entire case?
A: Yes. Removing an item from an Event removes it from that Event and is no longer available to the Case or Caisey.
Q: Can I restore an item after removing it?
A: No. There is no undo once you remove a Dependency. You will need to re-add or re-link the time.
Q: Who can access the Dependencies window?
A: Only users with appropriate Access permissions can view and modify dependencies.
Q: Does removing a time entry affect billing?
A: Yes. If you remove a time entry from an event, it will no longer be associated with that event for billing purposes.
