⚙️ Getting Started with Medical Events
Medical appointments are a category of Events in Casefriend. You can schedule a medical appointment for a case by selecting the Medical Event Type.
Appointments will be pushed to the attorney's Outlook or Gmail calendar only if Auto Push is enabled.
💡 Tip: Your firm administrator can customize Medical Event Types to match your jurisdiction and workflow.
📅 Schedule a Medical Appointment
Step-by-Step Guide
1️⃣ Open the Medical Event Form
- From the Case Timeline, click the Medical button
- Click New Medical Event
2️⃣ Select a Medical Event Type
To schedule a medical appointment, select one of the following Event Types:
- Medical Evaluation
- Medical Report, Records, Consultation ...
🚨 Only Events with these types will appear on the attorney’s calendar.
Your firm may have additional custom Event Types available.
3️⃣ Enter Appointment Details
- Click the Details tab
- Complete all required fields, including Date, Time, and Provider Name
🚨 Make sure the date and time are accurate!
4️⃣ Save the Event
- Click Save Event
✅ The appointment will be added to the attorney’s Personal Calendar and the Firm Calendar in Casefriend.
If Auto Push is enabled, the appointment will also appear in the attorney’s Outlook or Gmail calendar.
📅 Create a Non-Calendar Medical Event
If you want to create a medical-related Event that does not appear on the attorney’s calendar, select one of the other Event Types not listed above
💡Create a Task & Alert (Optional)
After saving a Medical Event, Casefriend may prompt you to create a related Task & Alert.
- Click Yes to open the Task & Alert modal
- Assign tasks (e.g., confirm appointment, send records, follow up with provider)
- Set due dates and reminders

Frequently Asked Questions
❓Why isn’t my medical appointment showing on the attorney’s calendar?
Medical appointments will only appear on the attorney’s Outlook or Gmail calendar if all of the following are true:
- The Case has a Firm Location assigned to it. If your Appearance Event does not appear, check the Case Info page and make sure a Firm Location has been assigned.
- Auto Push is enabled for the attorney
- The Medical Event Type supports calendar syncing (for example, Medical Evaluation)
- A valid date and time were entered

Which Medical Event Types sync to the attorney’s calendar?
Only specific Medical Event Types are designed to sync to calendars, such as:
- Medical Evaluation

Your firm may also have additional custom Event Types. If an Event Type does not sync to the calendar, it is considered a non‑calendar Medical Event.
