Sometimes you need to remove a Time Entry due to an error or duplicate entry. This guide shows you how to delete a Time Entry while maintaining compliance and transparency.
🧭 Why Deleting Time Entries Is Different in Casefriend
Unlike some systems where deletions leave no trace, Casefriend tracks all deletions in an audit log. This ensures your firm maintains billing integrity and compliance with client guidelines.
💡 Pro-tip: If possible, edit the entry instead of deleting it. This preserves billing history and reduces audit risk.
1️⃣ Locate the Time Entry
Navigate to the All Billing page of a case
Case > All Billing page
- Use filters or search to find the entry you want to delete
2️⃣ Open the Time & Expenses Editor
- Click on the Time Entry
- The Time & Expenses Editor will open
3️⃣ Delete the Entry
- Click Delete
- Confirm the deletion in the pop-up dialog
⚠️ Note: Deleted entries are removed from billing but remain in the audit log for administrators.
✅ What Happens Next
- The entry disappears from the All Billing page
- An audit record is created for transparency
- Reports will reflect the deletion for compliance
