Invoices in Casefriend are generated for each Case and include all associated Time Entries. There are multiple ways to create invoices. This article explains the Batch Invoicing method: creating multiple invoices with a click, saving time and improving efficiency.
🧭 What is Batch Invoicing?
Batch Invoicing allows you to create multiple invoices at once. This is ideal for firms that need to process invoices for several cases simultaneously.
🧾Steps to Generate Invoices using Batch Invoicing
- ➡️ Navigate to Batch Invoicing
- Go to the Billing Menu and select Batch Invoicing.
- 🔍 Set Filters
- Choose a Client Group or Location.
- Select a Cut Date:
- 👀 Review Cases
- The system displays all Cases with mature Time Entries (Time Entires that meet Client Billing requirements).
- If your firm requires attorney approval before invoicing:
- The Invoice column will show “Awaiting Attorney” until approval is complete.
- Once all billing guidelines are met:
- The Invoice column will display a checkbox.
- ✅ Select Cases
- Check the boxes for the cases you want to invoice.
- You can select individual cases or all cases.
- 📃Create Invoices
- Click Create Invoices to generate invoices for the selected cases and verify your Batch
- Follow the prompts to create your Batch. When your Batch is prepared your browser will prompt you to download
🔄️ Download an Existing Batch
You can re-download an existing Batch from the Invoice Manager page.

Q: What does “Awaiting Attorney” mean in the Invoice column?
A: It means the case requires attorney approval for Time Entries before invoicing. Once approved, the checkbox will appear.
Q: Can I invoice all cases at once?
A: Yes. Use the Select All option to invoice every case that meets billing requirements.
Q: What is a “mature” Time Entry?
A: A mature Time Entry meets all Client Billing requirements and is ready to be invoiced.
Q: How does the cut date affect invoicing?
A: The cut date determines which Time Entries are included. All entries up to 11:59 PM on that date will appear in the batch.
